Official: Russia allows Isuzu Sollers to terminate invest deal

MOSCOW, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Isuzu Sollers, a joint venture of Japanese car maker Isuzu and Russia's Sollers, has attained a permit of a government commission to terminate a special investment contract signed in 2018, First Deputy Industry and Trade Minister Vasily Osmakov said on the sidelines on an export forum on Thursday.

"The commission has met. Yes, such a decision was made," said Osmakov, when asked about the decision.

According to business daily Kommersant, Isuzu Sollers planned to start producing UAZ City, a joint product with Sollers in 2021 but failed. The firms did not use incentives and do not owe the government.
